Heaton Named New Boys Basketball Coach At Greenwich

A Hall Of A Decade

Patrick Heaton, a former player at New Milford High School, has been named the new boys basketball coach at Greenwich High School. He replaces Bill Brehm, who resigned at the end of last season.

Heaton reportedly met with the Cardinal players for the first time on Wednesday.

Heaton, a permanent substitute teach at Western Middle School, was the coach for four seasons at Pocono Mountain East High School. Heaton helped lead the boys to a Pocono Mountain Conference championship, reach the conference final three times and compile an 86-43 record. Prior, Heaton was the coach at Mountain View High School, where his teams compiled a 73-46 record and won two league titles.

Heaton’s coaching experience also includes three seasons as the coach at Atlantic Cape Community College and five as an assistant at Lackawana Junior College.

Heaton continued his playing career after New Milford at New England College.

Brehm coached the Cardinals from 1999-2002 and returned in 2006. Last year he led the program to its finest season, a 24-4 mark that included berths in the FCIAC final and Class LL semifinals.

“Coach Heaton has had great successes as a head coach. He is a welcome and positive addition to our staff,” said Greenwich athletic director Gus Lindine.
