Danbury is the two-time defending champion and the No. 1 seed for this year’s FCIAC Girls Basketball Tournament, which begins Saturday afternoon with quarterfinal games at Westhill.
While the Hatters, with an 18-1 record, remain the favorite, there has been more overall balance than at any time in recent memory. Just two games separated the Nos. 2-7 seeds in conference play. Trumbull, the No. 8 seed, had a 3-4 record against the rest of the field.
All of which makes this one of the most anticipated tournaments in recent memory.
So which team do you think is going to take home the trophy? Danbury? Wilton, the only team to defeat the Hatters? One of the two teams from Stamford or Fairfield?
Here’s the chance to have your say. Pick the team you think will win the title. We will keep the vote open until the tournament begins, at noon on Saturday.
