Fundraiser For Charlie Capalbo Dec. 30 At FTC Warehouse

The area hockey world, which came together last year on behalf of Charlie Capalbo, is being asked to rally its support again.
Capalbo was a Fairfield Ludlowe senior and goaltender for the Fairfield Co-Op hockey team who after the season ended last month learned he had stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoblastic lymphoma T-cell cancer. Over $231,000 was raised.
The cancer was in remission and Capalbo was a student at Fairfield University.
Two months ago Capalbo was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia. He is being treated at Dana Farber in Boston. Capalbo’s brother Will, the current Fairfield goaltender, is going to be a bone-marrow donor once Charlie, who is going through chemotherapy, is cleared for surgery.
Friends of the Capalbos are again asking the community to come together. Interest in a fundraiser has been so strong that the FTC Warehouse in Fairfield has been booked on Dec. 30 from 7-11 p.m. There will be a band, food trucks and hats and shirts sold, with all the proceeds going to the Capalbo family.
Tickets and merchandise can be purchased on this site.
There is also the Capalbo Strong Facebook page.
Hopefully there will be a strong turnout and continued support for Charlie and his family.
