We have nine male and nine female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Player of the Week votes.
The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.
Here are the male finalists:
Lucas Boursiquot, Westhill Football. Boursiquot finished with 188 total yards and two touchdowns as the Vikings, 0-10 a year ago, opened with a 27-0 win over Wilbur Cross.
Davis Crandall, Staples Football. Crandall had 14 tackles, a sack and an interception in the Wreckers’ 48-7 win over Hamden.
Andrew Esposito, New Canaan Football. Esposito had nine catches for 275 yards and five touchdowns, tied for the second most in state history, in a 42-13 win over Maloney.
Ronan Hanley, Ridgefield Soccer. Hanley finished with two goals and an assist as the Tigers won twice to improve to 4-0.
Charlie Jones, Fairfield Ludlowe Soccer. Jones scored all three of the Falcons’ goals in a pair of one-goal wins.
Jack Kelly, Greenwich Football. Kelly had nine solo tackles and a fumble recovery in a 24-6 win over West Haven.
Jake Rios, St. Joseph Football. Rios had four catches for 116 yards and a 94-yard touchdown, a 26-yard field goal, two extra points, nine tackles and four punts for a 42.3 average with two buried within the 5-yard line in the Cadets’ 17-7 win over North Haven.
Ben Rolapp, Darien Football. Rolapp threw for 223 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another in a 45-6 win over Cheshire.
Colin Walker, Fairfield Warde Football. Walker had 24 carries for 224 yards and a touchdown and three catches for 78 yards and another score in a win over Warren Harding.
Here are the female finalists:
Lily Archibald, Ridgefield Swimming. Archibald won the 200 medley and 100 backstroke in a 99-85 win over Darien.
Eleanor Cowan, Fairfield Ludlowe Volleyball. Cowan had 17 kills out of 27 attempts, 3 aces, 1 block, 4 digs and 2 assists in a straight-set win over Newtown.
Kelli Ennis, St. Joseph Volleyball. Ennis had 32 kills for the Cadets during a 2-1 week.
Riely Gullens, Staples Soccer. Gullens scored in three straight games to run her streak to four as the Wreckers went 3-0.
Laila Henry, Fairfield Warde Volleyball. Henry had 30 assists, 20 digs, 12 service points, 5 kills and 5 blocks in a straight-set win over Bristol Central.
Natalie Hobbick, Stamford Volleyball. Hobbick finished with 45 kills, 7 aces and 19 digs in a 3-0 week for the Black Knights.
Brogen Kern, Westhill Volleyball. Kern had 28 assists and 5 digs in a straight-set win over Pomperaug.
Ava Thatcher, Danbury Soccer. Thatcher scored two goals in three straight games, running her streak to four, as the Hatters had a 2-1 week.
Wesley Wales, Greenwich Swimming. Wales won the 50 and 500 free, anchored the winning 200 freestyle relay and led off the winning 400 freestyle relay in a win over New Canaan.
