Vote For The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players Of The Week

We have six male and six female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Player of the Week votes.

The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.

Here are the male finalists:

Trevor Chojnacki, Ridgefield Football. Chojnacki finished with 11 tackles, one sack, a 54-yard interception return for a score and a blocked punt in the end zone in a win over Westhill.

Justin Daniel, Brien McMahon Football. Daniel had four receptions for 44 yards and a score, two interceptions, one returned 58 yards for a score and four tackles in a loss to Fairfield Ludlowe.

Tayjahn Genus, Bridgeport Central Football. Genus had seven carries for 182 yards in one half of a loss to Fairfield Warde.

Santi Parra, Greenwich Football. Parra had 10 tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown in a win over St. Joseph.

Quin Russo, Fairfield Warde Football. Russo had nine carries for 119 yards and four touchdowns in the first half of a win over Bridgeport Central.

Ryan Tompkins, Fairfield Ludlowe Football. Tompkins finished with 23 carries for 115 yards and four touchdowns, and had 10 tackles in a win over Brien McMahon.

Here are the female finalists:

Marin Black, Darien Volleyball. Black finished with 17 kills and 12 blocks in the Blue Wave’s semifinal and final wins for the FCIAC title.

Sofia Fidalgo Schioppa, Staples Field Hockey. Fidalgo Schioppa scored a goal with 18 seconds left in regulation time and then a spectacular game winner for a 3-2 win over Darien for the FCIAC title.

Emma Kelly, New Canaan Swimming. Kelly finished with 475.75 points to win the FCIAC diving title.

Samantha Ruffles, Danbury Soccer. Ruffles had an assist and led a strong defensive effort in the Hatters’ opening round 2-0 win over Maloney in the state playoffs.

Paige Shaughnessy, Fairfield Warde Soccer. Shaughnessy scored both goals in a first-round state playoff win over Fairfield Ludlowe.

Ava Ward, Ridgefield Swimming. Ward won the 200 and 500 freestyles and was part of a winning relay to help the Tigers win the FCIAC championship.
