We have seven male and seven female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players of the Week.
The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.
Here are the male finalists:
Johany Benavides, Norwalk Volleyball. Benavides finished with 74 assists and 6 aces in a 2-1 week, reaching 1,000 career assists.
CJ Berlingo, Stamford Baseball: Berlingo went 4 for 6, with three runs, four RBIs and a 1.611 OPS in a pair of wins.
Ryan Busse, Danbury Baseball, Busse went 5 for 8, with two RBIs, two walks and four runs in two games.
Dylan Gomez, Greenwich Boys Volleyball. Gomez finished with 14 kills, 14 assists, and 12 digs in a win over St. Joseph.
Ryan Leonzi, Trumbull Baseball. Leonzi went 8 for 12, with five RBIs, four runs scored and three stolen bases, in three games.
Hunter Pallai, Staples Lacrosse. Pallai scored five goals in a come-from-behind win over No. 1 New Canaan.
Quinn Scanlan, New Canaan Tennis. Scanlan went 3-0 playing No. 1 and 2 singles and had a straight-set win as the Rams ended Greenwich’s 70-match win streak.
Here are the female finalists:
Riley Barber, Greenwich Track. Barber won the 100, 200 and was part of the winning 4×100 relay in a win over Stamford.
Nora Donahue, Fairfield Ludlowe Softball. Donahue went 7 for 12 with seven runs scored out of the leadoff spot in three wins.
Vivian Knott, Darien Softball. Knott struck out 17 over six innings and hit a two-run home run in a 3-0 win over Westhill.
Olivia Lazar, Staples Tennis. Lazur had a big three-set win at No. 1 singles in a victory over Darien.
Katie Puk, Westhill Lacrosse. Puk stopped 21 shots in a 10-7 loss to Lauralton Hall.
Lily Recupero, St. Joseph Lacrosse. Recupero had a hat trick in a win over Stamford.
Julia Terry, Trumbull Softball. Terry had three hits in a win over Fairfield Warde.
