We have five male and five female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players of the Week.
The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.
Here are the male finalists:
Adrian Delicata, New Canaan Baseball. Delicata hit a game-tying two-run homer that sparked 13 unanswered runs and had two hits in a 16-5 FCIAC quarterfinal run over Staples.
Ryan Frame, Fairfield Ludlowe Baseball. Frame had the game-winning walkoff hit in the eighth inning for a 5-4 FCIAC quarterfinal win over St. Joseph.
Kevin Gordon, Norwalk Baseball. Gordon finished with three hits and two RBIs in a 7-6 FCIAC quarterfinal loss to Trumbull.
Devin Montesano, Darien Baseball. Montesano pitched a complete-game in a 4-2 FCIAC quarterfinal win over top-seeded Fairfield Warde.
Rysaiah Saunders, Danbury Track. Saunders set a league record in the 110 hurdles, was part of a winning 4×100 relay team and finished second in the 300 hurdles at the FCIAC championships.
Here are the female finalists:
Ella Barber, Greenwich Track. Barber won the 100 and 200 meters at the FCIAC championships.
Siena Gird, Darien Softball. Gird finished with two hits and two RBIs in a 12-0 FCIAC quarterfinal win over Fairfield Ludlowe.
Izzy Janiga, New Canaan Lacrosse. Janiga finished with six goals and an assist in a 12-1 FCIAC quarterfinal win over Staples.
Kylie Lucia, Trumbull Softball. Lucia finished with four hits, including a three-run homer, and scored four runs in a 14-2 FCIAC quarterfinal win over Ridgefield.
Sophie O’Connell, Danbury Softball. O’Connell hit a game-tying grand slam and finished with two hits in a 7-6 FCIAC quarterfinal win over Fairfield Warde.
