Player of the week

We have five male and five female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players of the Week.

The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.

Here are the male finalists:

Luke Bernier, Staples Football. Bernier had six tackles and two sacks in a 23-20 win over Ridgefield.

Dennis Dustin, Wilton Football. Dustin ran for 201 yards and five touchdowns in a 41-6 win over Westhill.

Anthony Evanko, Stamford Football. Evanko had three sacks, an interception and a touchdown in a 39-6 win over Bridgeport Central.

Harry Melbourne, Fairfield Ludlowe Football. Melbourne had a fourth-down sack with Darien driving as part of a 15-0 win.

Easton Pace, Norwalk Football. Pace rushed for 271 yards and four touchdowns and passed for 71 yards in a 28-21 win over Trumbull.

Here are the female finalists:

Taylor Bello, Westhill Soccer. Bello scored two goals in a 3-0 win over Bridgeport Central.

Cameron Dionis, Greenwich Soccer. Dionis scored twice, including the deciding goal with three minutes left, in a 2-1 win over Darien.

Adriana Loschiavo, Fairfield Warde Soccer. Loschiavo, a freshman, scored the winning goal in a 2-1 decision over Stamford and the lone goal in a 1-1 tie with Staples.

Casey O’Connor, Wilton Field Hockey. O’Connor finished with two goals and two assists in a pair of games.

Athena Ogle, Darien Field Hockey. Ogle scored all three goals, including the winner in overtime, for a 3-2 victory over Staples.
