Fun Facts: Ridgefield’s Luke D’Antonio

A new Fun Facts with Ridgefield baseball player Luke D’Antonio.

What are your hobbies outside of baseball? In the winter I love to go skiing with friends and family, then last year during the height of COVID I really got into golf so I love to do that once the baseball season is over. Other than that I really love reading, learning about the stock market and playing PS4 with friends.

What is your earliest baseball memory? My earliest baseball memory is from when I was in T-Ball and I used to wake my dad up really early on mornings before school so I could go hit off a tee outside with him. Luckily he was nice enough to come play with me and I would hit almost every morning before kindergarten.

If you could meet one professional baseball team, which one would it be and why? What would you ask/say to them? I would like to meet the New York Yankees. I have loved the Yankees since I was little so obviously I would love to meet them. I would ask them when they are gonna turn it round because I am hearing too much chirping from Red Sox fans right now. After that I would probably ask them about their work ethic and how they motivate themselves each and every day.

What is your favorite restaurant in Ridgefield? My favorite restaurant in Ridgefield is definitely The Hideaway. My family and I have been going there since it opened. Their burgers after a game are always the best.

What is your favorite Ridgefield baseball tradition? My favorite Ridgefield baseball tradition is that before the season the whole varsity team does something to its hair together to kind of unify us all as one. For example this year everyone on varsity got racing stripes into the side of their head.

What will you miss most about your team when you graduate? I am gonna miss seeing the guys everyday. We have been playing together for four years at this point and we have all become such good friends. When we all go our separate ways next year I am really gonna miss all the bus rides, meals and everything we do together as a team.

What is your favorite TV show or movie? The Office has always been my favorite TV show. I must have watched the whole thing three or four times at this point and it is far and away the best TV show ever made.
