GoFundMe Page Set Up In Honor Of Rivera

On Tuesday I wrote about the tragic news of the passing of Timari Rivera, a senior center on the Staples boys basketball team.

The Staples Boys Basketball Association today set up a GoFundMe page to help Rivera’s family with funeral costs and other expenses.

Wreckers captains Lucas Basich, Sean Clarke and Derek Sale wrote on the page, “Timari was an inspiration.  He was a passionate student of the game and a leader on and off the court. Timari loved being part of Wreckers basketball and was happier cheering on and encouraging his teammates than celebrating his own personal success. Timari Rivera was a big man with an even bigger heart.

In just six hours $13,781 has been raised toward a goal of $20,000.
