Snider, Abel BlueStreak-Ruden Report Players Of The Week


Kentrell Snider of the Brien McMahon football team and Verity Abel of the Staples girls swimming team are this week’s BlueStreak-Ruden Report FCIAC Players of the Week, presented by Chicken Joe’s.

Snider and Abel will each receive T-shirts and plaques from BlueStreak Sports Training and $25 gift certificates from Chicken Joe’s in New Canaan.

Snider accounted for four touchdowns — two rushing, one receiving and one on a kickoff return — and had 183 totals yards in the Senators’ 41-9 win over Fairfield Ludlowe.


Abel, the MVP of the FCIAC championship meet, won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:50.23, breaking the mark set in 1987 by Janel Jorgensen. Abel also won the 500 free in 4:53.48, breaking the mark set in 2006.
