The start of the high school football season is less than a month away, and three weeks from today, with a lot of support from our friends, The Ruden Report will again help to kick it off in grand fashion.
We will be hosting our second annual FCIAC Football Media Day, on Sept. 2, at Zody’s 19th Hole in Stamford, from 7-9 p.m.
The event is for the 19 league teams and the media.
This year will see a big jump from 12 months ago, when The Ruden Report had not even launched. All 79 captains will be receiving shirts from Under Armour. We will have a complete buffet. And noted journalist and Fairfield resident Armen Keteyian has signed on to be our guest speaker.
With a long resume, Keteyian is currently the lead correspondent for Showtime’s 60 Minutes Sports and a contributing correspondent for CBS’ 60 Minutes. Last fall saw the release of The System, subtitled “The Glory and Scandal of Big-Time College Football,” which he co-authored with Jeff Benedict. The New York Times’ best seller will be released in paperback later this month.
Keteyian recently came off a stint as CBS News’ chief investigative correspondent. He has written or co-written nine books and won 11 Emmy Awards.
The Ruden Report will be filming the first episode of FCIAC Football Weekly during the event, the media will have access to all league coaches and captains in one place and it should be a fun way for everyone to get together and prepare for the start of a new season.
None of this would be possible without the support of the sponsors: BlueStreak Sports Training, Karl Chevrolet, Innovative Health & Rehabilitation, Resource Management Group, Bankwell, Chicken Joe’s of New Canaan, Zody’s 19th Hole, Hoyt Livery, Competitive Edge College Advisers, Under Armour and Rhone Apparel.
