Vote For The Athletic Gaines-Ruden Report Male And Female Players Of The Week

We have five male and three female finalists for the Athletic Gaines-Ruden Report Male and Female Players of the Week.

The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will receive our Player of the Week T-shirts.

Here are the male finalists:

Jordan Brown, Danbury Basketball. Brown scored 23 points in the Hatters’ FCIAC quarterfinal win over Bridgeport Central.

Joe Gjinaj, Fairfield Warde Wrestling. Gjinaj won the 195-pound title at the State Open by decision in the second overtime.

Tyrique Langley, Norwalk Basketball. Langley scored 28 points to help the Bears upset top-seeded Ridgefield in the FCIAC quarterfinals.

Travis Longo, Wilton Wrestling. Longo won the 106-pound title at the State Open.


Timmond Williams, Trumbull Basketball. Williams scored 28 points in the Eagles’ FCIAC quarterfinal win over Fairfield Warde.

Here are the female finalists:

Adnerys De Jesus, Greenwich Gymnastics. De Jesus scored a 38.975 and received a perfect score of 10 in the vault to win the all-around at the Class L championships to help lead the Cardinals to the title.

Julie Keckler, Trumbull Basketball. Keckler scored 13 points and was named MVP as the Eagles won their second straight FCIAC title.

Jessica Olin, Wilton Gymnastics. Olin scored a 36.475 to win the all-around at the Class M championships to help lead the Warriors to the title.
