We have four athletes on the menu for the 84 Sports Unsung Player of the Week award. The vote runs until 10 a.m. on Wednesday. The winner gets our UPOTW T-shirt.
The finalists:
Jon Martinez, Danbury Football. Martinez, a sophomore center, started at the last minute and contributed to an offense that gained over 400 yards in a win over Trinity Catholic.
Nick Novello, Staples Football. Novello, a 5-8, 160-pound sophomore defensive lineman, in his first game finished with three tackles, one tackle for a loss, one sack and one forced fumble in a win over New Britain.
Elizabeth Jasminski, Ridgefield Cross Country. Jasminski held off a pack of three New Canaan runners to gain the points that gave the Tigers a close win.
Liv Peters, Darien Swimming. Peters has performed well to get the Blue Wave off to a strong start.
