After a long list of memorable accomplishments over the past three months, it is time for you to decide who was the very best of the best. We have selected four outstanding finalists for the Rhone-Ruden Report Football Player of the Year award.
They are: Greenwich’s Mozi Bici, Darien’s Connor Fay, New Canaan’s Quintin O’Connell and St. Joseph’s David Summers.
The winner will receive a prize package that includes a Reign T shirt, tech terry hoodie and nylon tactel trackpant from Rhone.
The vote will run until noon on Thursday.
Here are the finalists and their statistics, according to MaxPreps:
Mozi Bici, Greenwich: Bici, a defensive end, finished with 17.5 sacks, setting a state record with eight in one game, 12 tackles for a loss, 15 hurries and was part of a defense that allowed just 4.2 points per game.
Connor Fay, Darien: Fay, a linebacker, finished with 79 tackles, 17 tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks and saw considerable time starting on the offensive line.
Quintin O’Connell, New Canaan: O’Connell finished with 91 catches for 1,158 yards and 14 touchdowns, 222 yards rushing and five touchdowns, and 375 return yards and one touchdown.
David Summers, St. Joseph: Summers completed 154 of 273 passes for 2,633 yards and 39 touchdowns and ran for five scores.
