Vote For The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players Of The Week

We have five male and nine female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Player of the Week votes.

The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.

Here are the male finalists:

Brennan Cutter, Trumbull Volleyball. Cutter finished with 28 kills, four blocks and seven digs in a five-set win over Ridgefield in a battle of unbeaten teams.

Alex Midy, Westhill Track. Midy won the 100 meters, long jump, 200 meters and was part of the winning 4×100 relay team at the city track championships with Stamford.

Jackson Mountford, New Canaan Boys Tennis. Mountford, a freshman, went 3-0 and didn’t drop a set, playing No. 1 singles.

Gavin Rothenberg, Staples Lacrosse. Rothenberg scored seven goals in a pair of wins, including a come from behind win over Darien.

Kyle Song, Ridgefield Tennis. Song went 2-0 at No. 2 singles against tough opponents from Staples and Fairfield Warde.


Here are the female finalists:

Emma Abbazia, Greenwich Lacrosse. Abbazia scored 11 goals in wins against Simsbury and Stamford.

Julia Bella, Norwalk Lacrosse. Bella finished with 10 goals, three assists, eight draw controls and six caused turnovers in a pair of wins.

Niamh Dougherty, St. Joseph Softball. Dougherty in three games batted .750, walked twice, had three home runs, six RBIs and scored nine runs. She also became the school’s all time home run leader.

Chloe Humphrey, Darien Girls Lacrosse. Humphrey scored seven goals as the No. 1 ranked Blue Wave edged No. 3 St. Paul’s, 13-12.

Sadie Klyver, Wilton Softball. Klyver went 3-0 with a 1.56 ERA and 32 strikeouts in 18 innings, with a win in relief. Clever also batted .400, with two doubles, two RBIs and four runs scored.

Gabby Lauretani, Ridgefield Lacrosse. Lauretani scored five goals in a win over Farmingdale.

Allie Ortiz, Fairfield Warde Softball. Ortiz went 9 for 9, with a home run and five RBIs in a pair of wins.

Ellie Price and Maggie Murphy, Fairfield Ludlowe Tennis. Price and Murphy went 3-0 in straight sets to remain perfect on the season.

Lexie Tully, New Canaan Lacrosse. Tully finished with 14 goals and an assist in three wins.
