Vote For The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players Of The Week

We have seven male and four female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Player of the Week votes.

The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.

Here are the male finalists:

Owen Fedeli, Stamford Soccer. Fedeli scored a goal and added an assist in the Black Knights’ 2-0 Class LL quarterfinal win over Westhill.

Joey Hagerty, Wilton Football. Hagerty ran for two touchdowns and threw for another in the second quarter of a win over Fairfield Ludlowe.

Steven Hergenrother, Ridgefield Cross Country. Hergenrother won the New England Boys title, helping to lead the Tigers to the team championship.

Alex Parent, Fairfield Ludlowe Soccer. Parent stopped two penalty kicks in a second-round win over Ridgefield and allowed just one goal in a quarterfinal win over Xavier.

Caleb Smith, Staples Football. Smith rushed for 184 yards and four touchdowns and threw for 111 yards and a score in a win over St. Joseph.

Cooper Smith, New Canaan Football. Smith carried the ball twice, for touchdowns of 58 and 55 yards in a win over Brien McMahon.

Mink Van Tuijl, Greenwich Soccer. Van Tuijl assisted on both goals in a come-from-behind 2-1 Class LL quarterfinal win over Glastonbury.


Here are the female finalists:

Natalie Chudkowsky, Staples Soccer. Chudowsky made a game-tying penalty kick with one minute left and coverted her penalty kick after overtime to help Staples defeat Greenwich in the Class LL quarterfinals.

Riley Fitzgerald, Wilton Field Hockey. Fitzgerald scored the deciding goal in a 1-0 quarterfinal win over Ridgefield.

Maeve Matthews, St. Joseph Soccer. Matthews led a strong defensive effort in the Cadets’ 3-0 Class LL quarterfinal win over Ridgefield

Katie Savino, Darien Field Hockey. Savino led the defensive effort as the Blue Wave won two Class L playoff games by a combined 13-0 margin.
