Vote For The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players Of The Week

We have five male and five female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Player of the Week votes.

The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.

Here are the male finalists:

Xavier Gonzalez, Norwalk Baseball. Gonzalez went 2-3 with a home run a walk and two RBIs in a 10-5 win over city rival Brien McMahon.

Troy Goodwin, Greenwich Baseball. Goodwin threw five no-hit innings and had an RBI single in a 2-0 win over West Haven.

Austin Howard, Fairfield Warde Baseball. Howard allowed two hits over five innings in a 5-0 win over Staples, a rematch of last year’s Class LL final.

Andre Illardi, Danbury Tennis. Illardi took a 6-0, 6-2 decision at first singles in the Hatters’ 7-0 win over New Fairfield.

Matt Skiendziel, Westhill Volleyball. Skiendziel finished with 40 assists and two kills in a 3-0 win over Brookfield.


Here are the female finalists:

Briana Cardona, Westhill Softball. Cardona went 3 for 4 with two RBIs, struck out eight and allowed two earned runs in an 8-3 win over Lyman Hall.

Meghan Hoynes, St. Joseph Lacrosse. Hoynes finished with six goals and seven assists in a 20-4 win over West Haven.

Sydney Radachowsky, Danbury Tennis. Radachowsky, a freshman, won her first career match 6-0, 6-0 in the Hatters’ win over New Fairfield.

Becca Sexton, Trumbull Softball. Sexton threw a complete-game four-hit shutout and struck out eight in a 1-0 win over Newtown.

Gina Solow, Fairfield Ludlowe Softball. Solo went 5 for 10 with two doubles, a triple and eight RBIs in a pair of wins in Rhode Island.
