Player of the week

We have three male and five female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Player of the Week votes.

The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.

Here are the male finalists:

Martin Ivanov, Westhill Soccer. Ivanov scored twice, including the game-winner with 18 seconds left to give the Vikings their first win.

Christian Moura, Trumbull Soccer. Moura scored goals in a pair of shutout wins over Ridgefield and New Canaan.

Drew Sharron, Darien Cross Country. Sharron set the course record at Hoydens Hill in Fairfield with a time of 16:48. He won the race by 40 seconds.

Here are the female finalists:

Sarah Bernann, Greenwich Volleyball. Bernann had 32 assists and six digs in a straight-set win over Darien.

Sofia Fidalgo, Staples Field Hockey. Fidalgo finished with two goals and three assists in three wins, including over Darien and Wilton.

Bridget Kelly, Ridgefield Swimming. Kelly won the 100 and 200 freestyles in a win over Greenwich.

Brogen Kern, Westhill Volleyball. Kern had 27 assists in a five-set win over St. Joseph.

Maya Kreuzer, Wilton Swimming. Kreuzer won the 400 freestyle and 100 breaststroke in an 87-83 win over Trumbull.
