Vote For The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players Of The Week

We have six male and five female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Player of the Week votes.

The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.

Here are the male finalists:

Liam Bond, Fairfield Ludlowe Football. Bond had 24 carries for 158 yards and two receptions for 20 yards in a 21-14 win over Wilton.

Jermel Bynum, Brien McMahon Football. Bynum returned kickoffs 89 and 90 yards for touchdowns, had four receptions for 51 yards and a score and eight tackles with a sack in a loss to New Canaan.

Davis Crandall, Staples Football. Crandall led a strong defensive effort with 12 tackles — eight solo — two sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in a 14-10 win over St. Joseph.

Connor Hughes, Trumbull Soccer. Hughes made a number of big saves for the shutout in the Eagles’ 1-0 win over top-seeded Notre Dame-West Haven to reach the Class LL semifinals.

Hector Lopez, Greenwich Football. Lopez had 14 carries for 208 yards, a 30-yard reception and three touchdowns in a win over Ridgefield.

Luke Robinson, New Canaan Football. Robinson was 11 of 12 for 188 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Brien McMahon.

Here are the female finalists:

Shannon Bock, Darien Field Hockey. Bock scored three goals in succession in a state first round win over Trumbull and two assists in a quarterfinal victory over Ridgefield.

Clare Greisen, New Canaan Soccer. Greisen scored a hat trick in the Rams’ 4-0 Class L quarterfinal win over North Haven.

Joy Houdre, Greenwich Volleyball. Houdre finished with 40 digs and eight aces in a pair of state playoff wins.

Erin McNamara, Fairfield Ludlowe Field Hockey. McNamara made 25 saves in a 3-2 overtime win over Greenwich in the state playoffs.

Tyla Ozgen, Staples Field Hockey. Ozgen, a defender, had two three-goal games in state playoff wins over Stamford and Amity.
