Player of the week

We have six male and six female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Player of the Week votes.

The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.

Here are the male finalists:

Sai Akavaramu, New Canaan Basketball. Akavaramu shut down the opposing team’s top scorer and averaged 7.5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals and 2 blocks in a pair of wins.

Danny Dedvukaj, Trumbull Hockey. Dedvukaj stopped 51 shots in a 2-1 loss to St. Joseph.

Matt Maloney, Greenwich Basketball. Maloney finished with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists to lead Greenwich to an upset of unbeaten Staples.

Leo Moore, Ridgefield Wrestling. Moore finished first in the Colter Abely Tournament and the Gary Tiger Ridgefield Challenge, earning his 100th career win in the process.

Demar Taylor, Stamford Basketball. Taylor scored 25 points to lead Stamford to a win over Danbury.

Ryan Torello, Fairfield Ludlowe Basketball. Torello scored a game-high 31 points in a 69-40 win over St. Joseph and 26 points in a win over Norwalk.

Here are the female finalists:

Julia DelRe, St. Joseph Basketball. DelRe averaged 12 points and 9.3 rebounds in three wins.

Zuri Faison, Greenwich Basketball. Faison scored 17 points to help the Cardinals stay unbeaten with a win over Staples.

Ryanne Gulbin, Fairfield Warde Basketball. Gulbin finished with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 steals in a win over Danbury and 24 points, 14 rebounds and 5 steals in a win over Ridgefield.

Ana Pepin, Trumbull Gymnastics. Pepin won three of four events and the all around with a score of 37.9 in a win over Staples and Norwalk.

Ashton Pinkernell, New Canaan Hockey. Pinkernell finished with three assists in a 7-5 win over Wilton/Norwalk/McMahon.

Scarlett Robertson, Fairfield Co-Op Hockey. Roberston with a hat trick in a win over Greenwich and a goal and assist in a win over Guilford.
