Vote For The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players Of The Week

We have five male and four female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Player of the Week votes.

The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.

Here are the male finalists:

Anthony Albanese, Fairfield Warde Wrestling. Albanese won the heavyweight title at the Class LL Championships.

Cole DesianoRidgefield Wrestling. Desiano won the 106-pound title at the State Open.

Ryan Luchetta, Wilton Basketball. Luchetta scored 27 points in a win over Stamford that helped secure a playoff spot.

Mike Maroney, St. Joseph Wrestling. Maroney won the 157-pound title at the Class S Championships.

Sebastian Perez, Trumbull Track. Perez won the 300-meter title in 35.19 at the State Open Championships.

Ryan Torello, Fairfield Ludlowe Basketball. Torello finished with 26 points and 5 rebounds in a 61-50 win over New Canaan in the Class LL quarterfinals.

Adam Udell, Staples Basketball. Udell finished with 13 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds in a 76-54 quarterfinal win over Wilton.


Here are the female finalists:

Sophie Desiano, Ridgefield Basketball. Desiano averaged 13 points (including 18 in an FCIAC quarterfinal win over Stamford), 4 assists and 3 streals in a 3-0 week.

Zuri Faison, Greenwich Basketball. Faison scored 18 points in a win over Fairfield Warde to clinch the No. 2 playoff seed.

Lila Fiorita, Darien Hockey. Fiorita led a strong defensive effort as the Blue Wave allowed just one goal in two wins to finish the regular season undefeated.

Chloe Smith, Staples Basketball. Smith scored 22 of her 23 points in the second half to help the Wreckers rally from a 19-point deficit to defeat St. Joseph in the FCIAC quarterfinals.
