We have seven male and six female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players of the Week.
The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.
Here are the male finalists:
Johany Benavides, Norwalk Volleyball. Benavides finished with 69 assists, 5 aces and 10 kills in a 2-1 week.
Luke Boyle, Brien McMahon Lacrosse. Boyle stopped 11 shots in a 7-6 upset win over Granby Memorial.
Emmy Bulis, Greenwich Baseball. Bulis went 3 for 4 with a home run and two runs scored in a 6-0 win over Staples.
Jake Carney, Ridgefield Boys Lacrosse. Carney scored 12 goals in a pair of wins.
Benny Degruttola, Stamford Baseball. Degruttola went 3 for 7, with two doubles and three runs, and struck out seven and allowed one earned run and three hits in five innings pitched.
Connor McAndrews, Wilton Lacrosse. McAndrews scored 11 goals and an assist in a pair of wins.
George Persinger, Darien Lacrosse. Persinger stopped 12 shots in a 13-7 win over Manhasset.
Here are the female finalists:
Emily Dentel, Westhill Lacrosse. Dentel finished with 8 goals, 1 assist and 7 draw controls in a win over Norwalk.
Mairead Kelly, Fairfield Ludlowe Tennis. Kelly won a pair of straight-set matches at No. 1 singles in a pair of team wins.
Vivian Knott, Darien Softball. Knott pitched a three-hitter with 14 strikeouts and went 4 for 4 with a home run, three doubles and five RBIs in an 8-1 win over Bunnel.
Sophie O’Connell, Danbury Softball. O’Connell went 5 for 6 with four home runs, 12 RBIs and four runs in a pair of wins.
Emma Row, New Canaan Lacrosse. Row scored seven goals in an 8-7 win over Rye and four goals and three assists in a win over Morristown (NJ).
Noelle Tybur, Staples Lacrosse. Tybur scored 11 goals in three wins.
