We have six male and five female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players of the Week.
The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.
Here are the male finalists:
Jamar Bailey, St. Joseph Football. Bailey finished with 10 tackles — three for a loss — and a sack in a 7-3 loss to New Canaan.
Lovron Cherry, Danbury Football. Cherry finished with 131 yards on 10 carries and two scores in the first half of a 52-14 win over Fairfield Warde.
Ryan Francis, New Canaan Football. Francis dominated from the defensive line and had three tackles in the Rams’ 7-3 win over St. Joseph.
Steve Gomez, Westhill Soccer. Gomez scored three goals to help the Vikings defeat New Canaan for their first win.
Reef Sayegh, Norwalk Soccer. Sayegh finished with three goals and an assist in a win over Fairfield Warde.
Nick Weil, Staples Football. Weil threw for 231 yards and two scores and ran for two others in a 31-6 win over Darien.
Here are the female finalists:
Sienna De Kanter, New Canaan Cross Country. De Kanter won a meet with Staples, Norwalk and McMahon in 19:14.36
Riely Gullans, Staples Soccer. Gullans finished with two goals and an assist as the Wreckers handed Trumbull its first loss, 3-1.
Rebecca Karlsen, Fairfield Ludlowe Volleyball. Karlsen finished with 23 kills in a win over St. Joseph.
Victoria Sullivan, Greenwich Volleyball. Sullivan had 36 assists, 6 digs and 3 blocks in a straight-set win over Trumbull.
Anna Von Kennel, Darien Soccer. Von Kennel scored twice in a 3-2 win over Danbury.
