We have four male and four female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players of the Week.
The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.
Here are the male finalists:
Patrick Lewis, Trumbull Golf. Lewis shot a 1-under-par 71, including a hole in one on the par-3 12th hole, to take medalist honors at the FCIAC team championship.
Ryan Newcomb, Greenwich Cross Country. Newcomb became the first male from Greenwich in 48 years to win the FCIAC cross country championship.
Jared Relayze, Stamford Soccer. Relayze scored the deciding goal in a 1-0 win over St. Joseph and added another in a win over Wilton.
Adrian Rodriguez, Staples Soccer. Rodriguez scored three goals in succession during a win over Westhill.
Here are the female finalists:
Makayla Bechervaise, Brien McMahon Field Hockey. Bechervaise scored back to back goals to help the Senators defeat city rival Norwalk, 3-2.
Mary Kelly, Ridgefield Swimming. Kelly won the 200 freestyle and was part of winning 200 and 400 meter relay teams in a meet with Greenwich.
Sophie Passalacqua, Greenwich Cross Country. Passalacqua won the FCIAC cross country championship in a meet-record time of 17:51.
Ava Thatcher, Danbury Soccer. Thatcher scored twice in a 3-2 upset of New Canaan.
