We have four male and four female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players of the Week.
The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.
Here are the male finalists:
John Carrozza, Ridgefield Wrestling. Carrozza won the 144-pound championship by a 6-5 decision at the New England Championships.
Sam Clachko, Staples Basketball. Clachko was named MVP of the FCIAC final after finishing with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in a win over Ridgefield.
Willie Ericson, New Canaan Hockey. Ericson scored in overtime to give the Rams a 1-0 win over Darien for the FCIAC championship.
Logan Pearle, Stamford/Westhill Hockey. Pearle’s first career goal gave Stamford/Westhill a 2-1 win over Wilton for the Doug Robinson Tournament title.
Here are the female finalists:
Jillian Blake, Trumbull Wrestling. Blake pinned her way to winning a title at the New England Championships.
Hayden McBean, Fairfield Ludlowe Basketball. McBean finished with 25 points, 25 rebounds, 5 blocks and 3 assists in a first-round state playoff win over North Haven.
Addie Talbott, Staples Basketball. Talbott finished with 14 points, 8 rebounds and four assists in a first-round state playoff win over Lyman Hall.
Madi Utzinger, Greenwich Basketball. Utzinger finished with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in a win over Staples for the FCIAC championship.
