We have seven male and eight female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players of the Week.
The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.
Here are the male finalists:
Mario Coppola, Wilton Baseball. Coppola thew a complete-game 3-hitter, with six strikeouts and one walk, in a 10-0 win over East Haven.
Kelsey Jack, Stamford Baseball. Jack went 3 for 3 with four RBIs in a 10-8 loss to Shelton.
Dean Kim, Greenwich Lacrosse. Kim scored five goals in an 11-1 win over Fairfield Warde.
Brady Mazabras, New Canaan Lacrosse. Mazabras scored four goals in a 12-9 win over Mamaroneck.
Wes Scallen, Darien Lacrosse. Scallen scored four goals in a 12-4 win over Fairfield Prep.
JJ Scavone, Trumbull Baseball. Scavone went 3 for 4 with two doubles and had the game-winning hit in the bottom of the sixth of a 9-7 win over Fairfield Prep.
Marcus Villafane, Norwalk Baseball. Villafane allowed no runs and three hits over six innings, with six strikeouts, in a 4-0 win over No. 4 Amity. [ays_poll id=60]
Here are the female finalists:
Cora Barrett, Staples Softball. Barrett had two hits, with a double, and three RBIs in an 8-4 win over Daniel Hand.
Shannon Dillon, Darien Golf. Dillon was the medalist, shooting a 42 at Richter Park in a win over Danbury.
Mia Ferranti, Fairfield Warde Lacrosse. Ferranti scored four goals in a 12-3 win over Joel Barlow.
Anna Hoey, Fairfield Ludlowe Lacrosse. Hoey stopped 11 shots in goal in an 8-7 loss to Daniel Hand.
Izzy Janiga, New Canaan. Janiga scored two goals, including the game-winner with eight seconds left, in a 2-1 win over Ward Melville.
Kylie Lucia, Trumbull Softball. Lucia finished with four hits, including a double and a triple, three runs and three RBIs in a 13-0 win over Shelton.
Leighton Poeta, St. Joseph Lacrosse. Poeta finished with four goals and one assist in a 13-7 win over Weston.
Ruby Prior, Wilton Softball. Prior threw a five-inning two-hit shutout, with 10 strikeouts and no walks, in a 14-0 win over SHA. [ays_poll id=61]
