We have six male and six female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players of the Week.
The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.
Here are the male finalists:
Jules Cicero, Staples Baseball. Cicero went 7 for 12 with a double in three games.
Jacob Fields, Norwalk Baseball. Fields went 3-3, with two doubles, a grand slam and 8 RBIs in a win over New Fairfield.
Tristan MacAllister, New Canaan Baseball. MacAllister went 4 for 4 with a double and two runs scored in a 5-2 win over New Fairfield.
Reid Stanton, Fairfield Ludlowe Baseball: Stanton pitched six shutout innings, allowing two hits and striking out 12, in a 7-2 win over Joel Barlow, and went 2 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs in a 9-5 win over Maloney.
Colin Tomaszewski, Darien Baseball. Tomaszewski threw a three-hit shutout, striking out 13 with no walks, in a 4-0 win over Stratford.
Lucas Vellozzi, Stamford Lacrosse. Vellozzi set a school record with 9 goals in a 16-15 loss to Bethel.
Here are the female finalists:
Quin Chandler, Darien Lacrosse. Chandler scored three goals, including the game-winner in double overtime, for a 10-9 win that ended No. 1 St. Anthony’s 51-game win streak.
Katie McKay, Wilton Softball. McKay went 6 for 14, with six runs scored and four RBIs, in three games.
Marlie Noto, Stamford Softball. Noto went 11 for 14, with 3 home runs and 9 RBIs, in three games.
Emilie Russell, Staples Softball. Russell went 6 for 14, with six runs scored and four RBIs, in three games.
Isabella Spagnuolo, Brien McMahon Softball. Spagnuolo went 8 for 9, with 11 RBIs and nine runs scored, in a pair of wins.
Alex Whitbeck, Ridgefield Lacrosse. Whitbeck won 17 of 18 draws in a 13-3 win over Amity.
