We have seven male and seven female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players of the Week.

The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.

Here are the male finalists:

Hayden Ayers, Bridgeport Central Football. Ayers finished with 17 tackles, three for a loss, during a 40-16 win over Bassick.

Justin Carroll, Greenwich Football. Carroll finished with 100 yards rushing and three touchdowns, 11 tackles and one sack in a 24-0 win over Newtown.

Jack Crowell, New Canaan Football: Crowell scored on a 30-yard touchdown run and had 10 tackles and two sacks in a 47-14 win over New Britain.

Greyson Downes, Staples Soccer. Downes tied a school record with four goals — all in succession in the first 33 minutes — in a 5-0 win over Norwalk.

Ryan Grant, Fairfield Warde Football. Grant returned a fumble 49 yards for the game-winning touchdown and had nine tackles in a 32-28 win over Amity.

Isaiah Stephens, Stamford Football. Stephens caught 10 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown and scored on two conversions in a 25-0 win over Stratford.

Asher Stupao, Fairfield Ludlowe Football. Stupao had eight tackles and did not allow any pressures on offense during Friday’s 41-19 win over West Haven.


Here are the female finalists:

Hannah Fuzesi, Greenwich Soccer. Fuzesi finished with a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over Westhill.

Rebecca Karlsen, Fairfield Ludlowe Volleyball. Karlsen, who recorded her 500th career kill, finished with 32 kills, three blocks, 19 digs and six aces in three matches.

Leah Larit, Staples Field Hockey. Larit scored a goal and assisted on the winning score in a 2-1 overtime decision over Fairfield Ludlowe.

Libby Meyer, Darien Field Hockey. Meyer finished with a goal and two assists in a 4-1 win over Staples.

Casey O’Connor, Wilton Field Hockey. O’Connor finished with five goals and an assist in three games.

Ava Thatcher, Danbury Soccer. Thatcher scored five goals and added an assist in a pair of wins.

Tess Ward, Brien McMahon Field Hockey. Ward made 53 saves — including 28 in one game — during a 1-2 week.
