Vote For The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players Of The Week

We have eight male and eight female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Player of the Week votes.

The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our new performance T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.

Here are the male finalists:

Ben Calabrese, Wilton Lacrosse. Calabrese scored four goals in a Class L quarterfinal win over Cheshire.

Matt Claps, Brien McMahon Baseball. Claps had two hits, including an RBI single that drove in the go-ahead run in a Class LL quarterfinal win over Newington.

Colin Firda, St. Joseph Golf. Firda, a freshman, shot a 73 to win the Holohan Invitational Tournament.

Gabriel Kwarteng, Danbury Track. Kwarteng won the 800 meters at the Class LL championship.

Cage Lasley, Greenwich Baseball. Lasley doubled, tripled and drove in a run in a Class LL quarterfinal win over Fairfield Warde.

Nick Montagnese, Westhill Baseball. Montagnese had three hits and two RBIs in a Class LL quarterfinal win over Hall.

Alistair Morin, Norwalk Baseball. Morin pitched a first-round Class LL no-hitter against Amity and four shutout innings in a quarterfinal win over Ridgefield.

Matthew Shepard, Ridgefield Lacrosse. Shepard stopped 13 shots in a 4-3 Class L first-round win over Staples.


Here are the female finalists:

Maura Carbone, Trumbull Softball. Carbone finished with four hits in a Class LL quarterfinal win over Newtown.

Erin Daugherty, Ridgefield Track. Daugherty won the 100 meters at the Class LL championships.

Shelby Dejana, Wilton Track. Dejana won the 100 meters and 100 hurdles at the Class L championships.

Chloe Humphrey, Darien Lacrosse. Humphrey finished with four goals and two assists in a Class L quarterfinal win over Cheshire.

Anna Keeley, Fairfield Ludlowe Track. Keeley broke the meet record in the 1,600 by three seconds at the Class LL championships.

Stirling Legge, New Canaan Golf. Legge shot an 83 to win medalist honors and help the Rams win the FCIAC title by 26 strokes.

Mari Noble, Greenwich Track. Noble won the 3,200 and was second in the 1,600 at the Class LL championships.

Tianna Rogers, Danbury Track. Rogers won the shot put at the Class LL championships.
