Vote For The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players Of The Week

We have seven male and six female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Player of the Week votes.

The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.

Here are the male finalists:

Mateo Cano, Norwalk Soccer. Cano finished with four goals and four assists in a pair of wins.

Vin Cognetta, New Canaan Football. Cognetta finished with 152 yards rushing on 16 carries and a touchdown in a win over Daniel Hand.

Nathan Cramer, Fairfield Ludlowe Cross Country. Cramer won a meet against Danbury, Fairfield Warde and Westhill.

Matthew Marczak, Ridgefield Soccer. Marczak, a right back, had two strong games on defense in a pair of wins.

Matthew Minicus, Darien Football. Mincius finished with six catches for 129 yards and a score and set up another touchdown with one of two long punt returns in a 27-14 win over Newtown. 

Corbin Smith, Trumbull Football. Smith had 12 carries for 77 yards and a score, eight receptions for 112 yards and two scores, a 27-yard completion, two interceptions and the winning two-point conversion in a win over Fairfield Ludlowe.

Maxwell Warren, St. Joseph Football. Warren finished with five catches for 184 yards and three scores in a 45-22 win over Windsor.


Here are the female finalists:

Maggie Carley, Trumbull Volleyball. Carley had 26 assists, four kills and two aces in a win over Avon.

Raina Johns, Darien Field Hockey. Johns had a goal and an assist and led an outstanding defensive effort in a 2-1 win over Staples.

Liv Leal, Fairfield Ludlowe Volleyball. Leal, a libero, had 41 digs in three wins, an 81 percent serve-receive accuracy and 90 percent serving accuracy.

Polly Parsons-Hills, New Canaan Field Hockey. Parsons-Hills had the only goal in a 1-0 win over Greenwich, a battle between unbeaten teams.

Katherine Rector, Ridgefield Cross Country. Rector finished in first place in a meet against Darien, St. Joseph and Brien McMahon.

Hannah Silva, St. Joseph Soccer. Silva finished with three goals and an assist in a pair of wins.
