Vote For The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players Of The Week

We have four male and five female finalists from FCIAC playoff and state competition for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Player of the Week votes.

The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.

Here are the male finalists:

Zach Broderick, Fairfield Baseball. Broderick pitched a complete-game four-hitter, striking out 10 and allowing no unearned runs in a 4-1 win over Westhill for the FCIAC title.

Colin Lenskold, Wilton Lacrosse. Lenskold stopped 14 shots in a 7-6 win over Staples in the FCIAC semifinals.

Thomas Waterbury, Westhill Lacrosse. Waterbury finished with 13 saves as the Vikings won their first ever state playoff game, 12-4 over Conard.

Cam Weibel, Darien Lacrosse. Weibel stopped eight shots and was named MVP for the Blue Wave in a 12-6 win over Wilton for the FCIAC title.

Here are the female finalists:

Ellie Gallagi, Fairfield Ludlowe Softball. Gallagi hit a two-run single in the sixth inning to give the Falcons a 2-0 win over Danbury in the FCIAC final.

Kali Holden, Trumbull Track. Holden won the 800 and 1,600 at the FCIAC championships.

Alanna Smith, Danbury Track. Smith won the 200 meters and the 400 in record time to help lead the Hatters to the FCIAC championship.

Lexie Tully, New Canaan Lacrosse. Tully finished with three goals and three assists to help the Rams rally for a 10-8 win over Darien for the FCIAC title.

Lauren Zhang, Darien Tennis. Zhang won her match against Staples at No. 1 singles for the second time this season to help lead the Blue Wave to the FCIAC title.
