Yesterday’s Best: Metalios’ 6 Goals Spark Greenwich; Pattillo, Corry Ignite Wilton Win

Honor Roll

Boys Lacrosse

  • Bryce Metalios finished with six goals and two assists, while Mikey Brescia and Brian Collins each had one goal and three assists for Greenwich in a 14-5 win over Pleasantville (NY). Quinn Warwick had two goals and an assist and was 13 of 18 on draw controls.
  • Mason Schaefer scored five goals for Staples in a 19-10 win over St. Joseph. Tyler Clark and Ryan Thompson each added two goals and five assists.
  • Colin McCarthy scored four goals for Fairfield Ludlowe in a 20-0 win over Norwalk. Cooper Carr and John Kleinbeck added three goals apiece.
  • Carter Connors scored four goals for New Canaan in an 11-10 win over Darien. Joe Cesare scored three times for the Blue Wave.
  • Caleb Rath finished with six goals and an assist for Wilton in a 15-12 win over Ridgefield.

Girls Lacrosse

  • Addison Pattillo scored five goals and had five draw controls, while Lucy Corry scored five goals for Wilton in an 18-9 win over Ridgefield. Molly Snow added two goals, eight assists and six draw controls.
  • Lauryn Wright scored four goals and Katie Coppola added three for Trumbull in a 13-3 win over Danbury.

Baseball

  • Grady Gernet went 3 for 3 with an RBI and Justin Keller finished with two hits, three RBIs and three stolen bases for Ridgefield in a 14-2 win over Newtown.
  • Charlie Solomine threw a no hitter for Danbury in a win against New Britain. 
  • Justin Zych had two hits for Greenwich in a 9-4 loss to Southington.

Boys Volleyball

  • Brennan Cutter finished with 18 kills and 9 blocks and Ben Leeds added 9 kills, 9 blocks and 22 digs for Trumbull in a 3-1 win over New Canaan. Matt Cherfane had 16 digs for the unbeaten Eagles.

Softball

  • Maddie Collins struck out six and allowed just one earned run for Norwalk in a 5-3 win over Newtown.
