Zach Allen has been selected the Walter Camp 2018 Connecticut Player of the Year. The award is presented to the top college football player who is a resident and/or played scholastically in Connecticut. The award is voted on by the Walter Camp Football Foundation membership.
Allen, the former New Canaan star, is finishing off a tremendous senior season and career at Boston College. A second team All-ACC pick, Allen has 15 tackles for a loss and 6.5 sacks. He also has 61 tackles (26 solo), 11 quarterback hurries, two fumble recoveries and one interception.
Allen is the fourth player from Boston College to receive this honor.
Boston College (7-5) will face Boise State in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl on Dec. 26.
Allen will be honored at the Walter Camp national awards banquet on January 12 at Yale’s Lanman Center.
