Tonight’s end of the regular season put together the final pieces together and set the pairings for the FCIAC girls basketball tournament, which begins Saturday at Staples with four quarterfinal games.
Staples earned the top seed with a 15-1 record. Danbury, Trumbull and Norwalk all won tonight to finish 13-3. The Hatters will be the second seed because they defeated both teams and Trumbull beat Norwalk to earn the third seed. The Bears will be No. 4.
Greenwich and Stamford both lost tonight to finish 11-5. The Cardinals won the teams’ regular-season meeting to earn the fifth seed. The Black Knights are sixth.

In the third tiebreaker, Ridgefield and Fairfield Ludlowe finished at 10-6. The Tigers won the teams’ meeting and will be the seventh seed. The Falcons will be eighth.

The quarterfinals are Tuesday at Trumbull at 6 and 7:45. The final is Thursday at Trumbull at 7.
