We have nine male and seven female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Player of the Week votes.
The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.
Here are the male finalists:
Paul Karafa, St. Joseph Lacrosse. Karafa finished with four goals and two assists in a win over Weston.
James Delaney, Trumbull Baseball. Delaney had a double and two-out, two-run single and a diving stop to prevent a possible big inning in a win over Masuk.
Avery Cromwell, Stamford Baseball. Cromwell had a single, double, 3 RBIs and scored a run in a 7-4 comeback win over Cheshire.
Mason Holcomb, Fairfield Ludlowe Baseball. Holcomb pitched two innings of perfect relief in a 1-0 win over Jonathan Law.
Here are the female finalists:
Rebecca Smolarz, Westhill Lacrosse. Smolarz caused nine turnovers in a game against New Milford.
Amelia Tutek, Trumbull Lacrosse. Tutek finished with six draw controls in a win over Lauralton Hall.
Fallon Leibrock, Fairfield Lacrosse. Leibrock stopped seven shots in a game against Newtown.
Keira Gilchrist, Norwalk Lacrosse. Gilchrist finished with 7 goals, 4 draw controls and an assist in a 10-9 win.
T’aira Walters, Danbury Softball. Walters went 4 for 5 with two doubles, two home runs and five RBIs and had a solid defensive game in a win over East Haven.
