Vote For The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Players Of The Week

We have five male and four female finalists for The Ruden Report-Fairfield County Bank Player of the Week votes.

The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will get our POTW T-shirts, courtesy of Fairfield County Bank.

Here are the male finalists:

Miles Drake, Darien Football. Drake completed 14 of 19 passes for 263 yards and five touchdowns in a 42-14 win over St. Joseph.

George Engels, Staples Football. Engels finished with 17 tackles — 5.5 for a loss — 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in the Wreckers’ 20-14 win over Norwalk.

Chad Russo, New Canaan Football. Russo had three sacks in a 14-7 win over Greenwich.

Ian Uecker, Ridgefield Soccer. Uecker stopped two penalty kick attempts to help the Tigers advance with an FCIAC quarterfinal win over Darien.

Adrian Vega, Brien McMahon Football. Vega, a sophomore, scored the game-winning touchdown and had an interception in a 20-14 triple overtime win over Westhill.  


Here are the female finalists:

Carolyn Baran, New Canaan Field Hockey. Baran scored twice in a 5-0 FCIAC quarterfinal win over Fairfield Ludlowe.

Annabel Edwards, Staples Soccer. Edwards, a freshman, scored her first career goal to get the Wreckers off to a quick start in a 3-1 FCIAC quarterfinal win over New Canaan.

Jillian Roche, Darien Volleyball. Roche had 22 kills and 27 digs in a 3-1 win over Wilton.

Kendall Scholz, Wilton Volleyball. School finished with nine kills, 10 service points and 14 digs in a 3-0 win over unbeaten Greenwich.
